The location is often described by
visitors to this area as 'idyllic'. The outstanding beauty of this,
one of the most stunningly beautiful parts of rural Devon is that
it is right on the Jurassic Coast which is now recognised
internationally as a World Heritage Site. The area is ideal for
those wanting a totally relaxing, peaceful "get away from it all"
holiday. Super walks along the cliff tops to Beer and Sidmouth
along one of the most stunning parts of the English coastline; you
won't want to return to the real world!
The chalet has a well equipped
kitchen and dining area for 4 guests. This opens up to a living
area with an L shaped sofa with bifold doors to the veranda with
un-interupted views of the beach and Lyme Bay.
There are two bedrooms - One with a
double bed and the other with a single bed and a bunk bed (sleeping
3 in this room)
The bathroom has a bath with shower
over, WC and wash basin.
A permit is provided for 1 car in the main car park. Please
note: there is a 2.2 metre height restriction for the car park.
Access: Magpie is is the 8th chalet along the track, around
200meters from the car park. We suggest packing lightly with
rucksacks or a beach trolly to transfer your luggage accross to
Magpie from the car park as there is no vehicular access to the
chalets. The Sea Shanty are able to offer a luggage buggy service
for £25 which is available any day before 4pm (more details
provided in arrival instructions).
The location is ideal for exploring the Jurassic Coast and its
spectacular walks along the South West Coast Path and Areas of
Outstanding Natural Beauty. Family favourites such as The Donkey
Sanctuary and Crealy are just a short drive away, while local
activities range from paddleboarding and watersports to golf at
Sidmouth Golf Club. The nearby towns of Sidmouth and Budleigh
Salterton boast independent shops, cafés, and restaurants,
including Otterton Mill and the award-winning Lympstone Manor.
Within walking distance you'll also find two excellent pubs, the
Fountain Head and The Masons Arms, as well as the Sea Shanty café
and shop right on Branscombe beach.
