The flat has been completely renovated to a very high standard and having spoken with the owner it most certainly has been a labour of love. With just four steps (with handrail) to the front door and level walks within the town, this property is ideal for those with slightly restricted mobility. 

The apartment's front door opens into a large entrance hall with a small seating area off which there is the king-size double bedroom, large bathroom plus a separate WC and cloakroom. The low bath is fitted with grab bars to give easy access to use as a luxury shower. The hallway then opens into the delightful open plan living, dining, and kitchen area which features two large Georgian style sash windows with deep window seats where you can sit and look down on the High Street below. The large superbly fitted luxury kitchen features a breakfast bar and the living area has a quality leather sofa (which can be made up as a sofa bed on request) and a dining table to seat 4. 

Parking: The long stay car park is at the western end of the seafront, up the hill towards Jacobs Ladder beach, where you can purchase a weekly ticket from the East Devon Council website for £25, this ticket covers all EDDC car parks. 

Jula may be booked in conjunction with Ada (upstairs) as Goviers to provide accommodation for 6-8 people; so why not enjoy these lovely apartments with your family or friends?

The sofa bed can be made up on request for an extra £50.

History: Goviers Cottage has been created from the upper floors of the famous Goviers China Shop which was established in Sidmouth in 1904 and was run by the building's current owners from 1983 until the shop closed and mail order business sold in 2019. For the last 3 years they have lovingly planned, rebuilt, and repurposed this 300-year-old historic building. It now provides retail space on the High Street for 'Liberty Belle' a small furniture/gift shop and two luxury holiday apartments on the upper floors named 'Ada' (Govier) after the founder of the business and 'Jula' (Angela Govier) Ada's granddaughter who decorated and sold her pottery in the shop in the 1950s. Both apartments are accessed off the quiet pedestrian Church Lane and have been superbly fitted out, themed with images depicting the history of the business and building, mixed with stunning photographs of the Jurassic coastline taken by the owners.

Sidmouth is a brilliant base for any age of guest, enjoy delicious food at great retaurants such as  The Pea Green Boat to  Lympstone Manor. Explore a range of activities on offer from nearby beaches off the  South West Coat Path to day trips to  The Donkey Sanctuary and  Seaton Tramway. There is  paddleboarding & kayaking available over the summer from Sidmouth beach or enjoy a round of golf at  Sidmouth or  Honiton Golf Club.
