Overview

Beautifully restored Grade II listed semi-detached thatched period cottage dating back to the 16th century. Many character features including exposed beams, some of which are low, original windows and fireplace have been retained. The cottage has a modern kitchen and two bathrooms. The quality furnishings are comfortable and tasteful with much care and thought taken by the owner. Quietly tucked away with an enclosed south facing garden in the centre of Sidford, a thriving village on the outskirts of Sidmouth.  A pretty riverside walk and cycle path runs along the River Sid leading to Sidmouth and the coast approximately 2-mile level walk. Sidford has a Spar supermarket, Bloaters Fish & Chip shop, two good pubs and a very good restaurant and is well positioned for exploring the lovely towns and villages close by.

Door to rear enclosed south facing garden with garden furniture. Outside WC. Easy rising stairs to first floor.  One double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath and W.C. Twin bedroom with en-suite shower room and W.C. Car Park in Sidford a few minutes from the cottage. A parking permit will be provided free of charge.

Our second stay at Fox Cottage, property clean as normal with all Sweetcombe properties. Beds super comfortable, well equipped kitchen, lovely space outside for our Cocker Spaniel to play, however we did have a couple of issues with a couple of random people coming into the garden to have a look, not a massive problem but a concern if they left the gates open with the dog. Having said that we had a great couple of weeks.
