We booked a few days away bank holiday weekend in May 2024, and wanted to be near to the donkey sanctuary, as we live in east anglia so a long drive. The cottage was clean and cosy and there was everything that you would need, eg cleaning stuff, cooking stuff etc. there was a welcome pack of biscuits, tea, chocolate, marmalade, and coffee. we had a problem with electricity which was sorted very efficiently. There was a folder with all the information needed for the cottage and plenty of leaflets for exploring. The entrance to the site was not very inviting as I understand that there was once a clubhouse and more facilities there but it’s a bit run down and needs brightening up. The area was very quiet apart from the odd hee haw of donkeys. We did have the added bonus of lovely weather so we’re lucky. It’s not far from Sidmouth and plenty to see in the area.
