On the eastern bank of the
estuary of the River Exe, Exmouth has everything required for a
relaxing break. It is a thriving coastal town with a nationally
renowned RSPB bird sanctuary, long sandy beach,
superb coastal walking along the South
West Coast Path, close to Exeter and with much to do and
see - this all contributes to the town's attraction. In addition to
boat days, lazing on the beach or taking the ferry up the estuary
or to Dawlish Warren nature reserve, there's always Otterton
Mill, Bicton
Park stately home and gardens, the Donkey Sanctuary at nearby Sidmouth,
Woodbury Common, the cathedral city of Exeter, and the
all absorbing Jurassic Coast with its famous
fossil deposits stretching eastwards into Dorset. In terms of
visitor attractions and coastal lifestyle you won't find much
better than Exmouth.
