Now under new ownership - Shanghai is a beautifully presented "arts and crafts" house that has been modernised to retain many of the original features of this particular style of architecture.Situated in a truly enviable location on the east side of the village just a few minutes walk from the shops and beach (a little longer coming back up quite a steep, but not too long, hill, ideal for burning off those extra holiday calories)! The house has a wonderful warm and welcoming atmosphere having been thoughtfully furnished with every last detail to make this a lovely holiday home from home. The stunning, panoramic views, over the village roof tops, surrounding countryside and out to sea make this a property one would never want to leave. All rooms are spacious, bright and airy with large picture windows and individual colour schemes throughout.

 ACCOMMODATION:Entrance hall with original tiled floor andstairway leading to first floor. Cloakroom with W.C. Delightful south facing sitting room, comfortably furnished with leather sofas and tasteful lighting. Imposing fireplace with Gazco gas wood burner effect fire. Pleasant outlook into the conservatory and out to sea over the village.Spacious conservatory with cane furnishings and dining area, directly overlooking the village, surrounding countryside and out to sea. Dining room with refectory dining table, fireplace (not open grate), small sitting area with attractive glazed roof. Very well equipped modern kitchen with good range of beech effect, fitted units. Quality shower room with w.c. On the first floor there are four good size, tastefully furnished bedrooms, all with lovely colour schemes and quality furnishings.The master bedroom has a king size bed and superb views directly overlooking the village and sea. One twin bedroom with similar views. Two further bedrooms, one with twin beds and one with king size antique style brass bed.Quality white bathroom suite with bath, shower cubicle and W.C.Outside there is a large south facing patio area with garden furniture affording the same village and coastal views. Gas central heating throughout.

Essential Information

Changeover day: Saturday (Short breaks are accepted and we can be flexible with the changeover day, but the charge is the weekly rate)

Parking:Parking for two vehicles on the private drive. There is also a permit for parking in the village car park included.
Dogs accepted charged at £25 per week. (£150 security deposit required for dog). 

TV,DVD, video, radio/cd. Wi Fi

Gas cooker. Fridge/freezer plus 2ndfreezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine.

Bed linen is provided and beds made up on arrival. Towels available to hire at £8 per set. Travel Cot.

Gas central heating and uPVC double glazed windows throughout.  


30th June 2018 - 'Didn't want to leave, A wonderful house, beautifully furnished with amazing views and great weather. So much to do, we particularly enjoyed sitting on one of the seats looking down at the beach before a walk along the coast, Good fun! very relaxing.

June 9th 2018 -' We have enjoyed the house, all we needed. Loved looking at the baby seagulls on the roof.

May 2018 -' Wow! What an absolutely beautiful house - more than big enough for 8 of us and the dog, would recommend, thank you for a fabulous stay.

9th April 2018 - ' We loved this house, it has everything we needed and is extremely well kept and beautiful. The views are amazing and the terrace is wonderful.

Short Breaks are available from the end of October half term to the start of the Easter school holidays, or at the owners' discretion for a last minute booking at other times of the year. Unfortunately it would be most unusual for us to be in a position to consider a short break at peak holiday times, such as the October and February half terms or over the Christmas, New Year and Easter breaks.
